Hallo,

zum vermehren von Eriocaulon sp "Sulawesigras" (ich dachte wir hätten uns auf diesen Namen geeinigt) kann ich auch ein paar Bilder beitragen.

Diese Pflanze möchte ich teilen.


Hier ist die komplette Pflanze zu sehen.


Das Foto zeigt meine geplanten Schritte.


Die Pflanzen nach dem Schneiden.


Es werden noch die Wurzeln eingekürzt.

Do You have infos about "Sulawesi Type 2", and differences to "Type 1"?

Massimo's Eriocaulon sp. "Japan Needle Leaf": I think it might be a Xyris species (family Xyridaceae). Because the leaves are distichous, uncommon in Eriocaulaceae but the rule in Xyris. Only a guess! Also further genera are possible.

i had same your concers from the first moment. The opposite leaves (or distichous) are not common in Eriocaulon sp., i finded this images, ti's very similar to my plant, Xyris angustifolia:

ich denke auch, dass es ein kurzer Syngonanthus ...(?)-Kopf ist!
Ich muss mal noch kurz was zu meiner neuen Pflanze sagen: bestellt hab' ich ja eine Eriocaulon , jetzt sieht's ja wohl eher so aus, dass ich eine Xyris sp. bekommen habe :shock: . Aber ich will mich nicht beklagen, sondern schauen wir mal, wie die sich so macht und von ihrem Wuchs her entwickelt.
Vielleicht wird sie ja auch ein Hingucker im geplanten (hoffentlich mal kommenden) 120 x 60 x 50-Becken :mrgreen: .
Ich bin auf jeden Fall mal gespannt.

I have to say something to my new plant: I ordered a Eriocaulon and received (probably) a Xyris sp. :shock: .
But I won't worry about! Let's all have a look what it will become in behavior and maybe it'll became an eyecatcher in my (hopefully coming soon) new 120 x 60 x 50-tank.

Hey everyone.

Wow Massimo and Matz, you guys are good :top: It is indeed a Syngonanthus sp. 'Uaupes'. I think it looks like a little Eriocaulon hihi. This type grows low to the substrate and forms clusters. I guess it could be fair to compare it to how Pogostemon helferi grows. My friends all tell me that it is sadly more demanding than most Eriocaulons that they have had the opportunity to try but hopefully, it will survive in my hands.

Matz, either way your plant is very interesting and unique. I've neither seen nor heard of this species before so it is a true rarity.
