In the aquarium hobby, a plant became known as a novelty under the name Limnophila punctata 'Blume'. It later turned out to be a Pogostemon species and is provisionally called Pogostemon cf. pumilus.
The name Limnophila punctata is, however, a synonym of Limnophila aromatica.
Blume is the author (Carl Ludwig Blume, 1796-1862) who published the original description of L. punctata in 1826. This author name was, however, probably misunderstood in the trade as a designation for a special form of L. punctata and was therefore put in quotation marks.
