Hygrophila corymbosa

Hygrophila corymbosa is a stem plant of swampy locations that is widespread in South-East Asia, growing submersed in flowing waters and emersed on wet ground.¹ Older names are Nomaphila corymbosa and Hygrophila stricta.¹

Under strong lighting the fast-growing species forms sturdy, compact shoots, although moderate light is already sufficient for it.¹² Moderately hard to hard, slightly alkaline water suits it well, and a nutrient-rich substrate and strong current promote growth.¹² It is suitable for staggered groups in the midground or background.¹ Plants supplied emersed usually shed their aerial leaves after transfer; when emersed it flowers pale blue to blue-violet.¹²
