The name Bucephalandra sp. 'Bukit Kelam / Sintang' is listed as a synonym of B. pygmaea 'Bukit Kelam / Sintang'.12 B. pygmaea is endemic to Borneo;3 this form was found at Bukit Kelam in Sintang Regency (West Kalimantan), where it grows densely on rocks in the bed and along the edges of fast-flowing streams.24
Its leaf margin is wavy to ruffled; the broadly spatulate blade is green to brownish green above and whitish green beneath and measures approx. 5 × 2 cm at most.24 As an undemanding epiphyte it is attached to wood or stone and used in the foreground and midground, including nano aquaria; for a Bucephalandra it grows comparatively quickly.24 In the trade it is also found as 'Green Wavy' or 'Wavy Leaf'; 'Green Velvet' is likewise listed as a synonym, while 'Melawi' is considered a misapplied name.24
