Aponogeton eggersii is a high-growing Aponogeton from Anove river in eastern Madagascar. The first live specimen was brought to Germany in 1998 by Gerd Eggers, and in 2001 the species was scientifically described by Josef Bogner and H.W.E. van Bruggen.
Eggers' Aponogeton develops up to a metre long leathery band-shaped submersed leaves of a light to dark olive green. Their margin is undulate. This relatively new species is easy in cultivation and does not require a resting phase, however, its height makes it only suitable for very high tanks.
