Amblystegium riparium is a synonym of Leptodictyum riparium. These two names have been used in the aquarium hobby for many years for a moss that is also known and popular as “Stringy moss”, feather moss or vase moss. In our opinion, however, this upright-growing moss does not belong to L. riparium, but to Drepanocladus aduncus.
True Leptodictyum riparium (see there) differs clearly from “Stringy moss”.
