Keine natürliche Verbreitung (Kulturhybride)
Echinodorus 'Red Flame' wurde Ende der 1990er Jahre von Hans Barth (Dessau) gezüchtet, nach Information des Züchters durch Selektion aus einem Bestand der Sorte E. 'Ozelot'.
Diese Sorte bildet eine bis 30 cm hohe, dichte Blattrosette. Die submersen Blätter haben eine prächtige rotbraun-hellgrüne Fleckenzeichnung. Die Blattspreite ist schmal eiförmig, wird 20 cm lang und 10 cm breit, der Blattstiel ist bis 10 cm lang.
