Cambarellus Diminutus versenden/verschiffen; Reiseziel USA

Beitragvon spypet » 14 Jan 2011 18:31

Hi, I know this tiny USA crayfish is popular in Europe, but I can't seem to find anyone in America breeding them now. Would you consider shipping me two pairs (4 crayfish) of diminutus to New York postal code 11375. Crayfish are tough and will survive days in transit if you pack them correctly, so please email back your cost for the animals and shipment and if we agree on price, I can paypal you the money in U$D or Euro. Thank you for your time - Joseph spypetATgmailDOTcom

Hi Joseph,
if there is nobody here who is able to sell crayfish to you, maybe I could by 2 pairs at http://www.zooplus.de/shop/aquaristik/w ... bse/106366 for you. As far as I know they are not shipping to the Americas. Thus, they had to send them to me and I would forward them to you. For this case I'd need your assistance regarding how to pack. Since shipping to USA will take a view days, may be it is good idea to plan a stop over (in my tank) so that they can relax for a while.

Regards

Joerg

P.S.; Please bear in mind that there will be a dditional cost for the shipping in the amount of 14 Euro.

Hello Joseph :D ,
welcome to Flowgrow.
Unfortunately we are an plant-keeping-specialized forum, so the possibility to get a positive answer is very low :( .
But I don't know, maybe there are some Cambarellus-keeper here :) .
About your attached picture: sorry, I had to remove this, because here you can only use pictures you did by yourself or thoose on which you have any permission for using it.
It's nice to have people from overseas her, I hope you don't mind about removing the picture  , but this are the rules.
I wish you a good time,
hope to see you here again ,
:bier:
viele Grüsse,
Matthias

I am very impressed by your prompt reply to my inquiry - and all written in such perfect english too!
I located two recent european sellers, and contacted both in English and German but they did not reply.

If someone is really willing to buy them in Europe and reship them to USA, that would be amazing.
It may be wiser to unbox them and acclimated them to your tank for a week before shipping them out again.
Let us continue to discuss the logistics and costs, and maybe come up with a fair price that is crayfish safe.
Enjoy your Weekend :bier:

Matz - no need to apologize for doing such a good job protecting this forum from potential copyright laws.
I am a planted tank keeper too, simply looking for more plant safe invertebrates to host with my shrimp.
It may amuse you to know my parents are from Stettin & Berlin; I grew up hearing them argue in German.
I also watch Deutsche Welle Journal News on TV every day - I love European news - USA news is so stupid.

Hi Joseph :D ,
thanks for your friendly reply!
I hope your parents had not only have to argue with you in german  ?!
It's nice to have you here, you are not the first (but the second  ) american user (with german background).
I started an call for shops and breeders of that crayfishes in USA in the ASW-Forum. Maybe someone knows any shop or breeeder and tells me. If I get some answers I'll pass it on to you.
A small hint still: a short "hello all" and maybe a "good by" (or something like this, eventually in the signature  ) would be perfect  !
I wish you a nice weekend too,
have a nice time,
:bier:
viele Grüsse,
Matthias

Hi Matz, thank you for teaching me proper European forum behavior.
Americans can seem so rude even when they do not mean to be.

Hi Simon, please tell Melinda Crane we love watching her beautiful relaxing eyes.

Hi Clioone, reading your excellent English advice, I contacted Franku today.
I will share on this forum his reply - I hope it will be good affordable news.

Goodbye for now, Joseph

Hi to all my new english reading German friends.

I wanted to thank you all for inspiring me to pursue a German vendor who could ship to America. After waiting for this freezing Winter to end, I have since located at least two sellers of invertebrates willing to ship small orders to America. I am trying a 100eu order from Fraku now, and will try a different vendor next Month. I will gladly post how it all worked out next week when my box arrives, and post plenty of pictures if you like.

in the mean time, I have one question for all you Crayfish breeding experts;
If I put a pair (male + female) of;
C.Diminutus(3cm) and C.Patzcuarensis(5cm) in the same tank, will they interbreed with each other?
I'm not worried with different size crayfish fighting, since my tank is very large and complex with many places to hide.
(see tank photo below) I'm only concerned right now in this question as to avoid mixing these genetic species.

Thank you for considering this question, take care - Joseph

Spypet, I have to say you have an amazing aquarium :) May I ask which plants are on the first picture and what kind of wood is that on the second picture? I have never seen anything like it - I mean the wood.
