Hello Vasteq,
And I do not know whether Kapit has red twigs.
Our "Kapit" plants here have brown-red leaf stalks (petioles) of the younger leaves, about the same color as in Your "Orchid Yau Mai" pic. But brownish to red petioles can be seen also in most other Bucephalandra forms, more or less (also depending on conditions?).
By the way, who knows the exact number of this Kapit is this? I know that Kapit is few. Named with different number.
If the plants in the trade come from collections in the nature, almost every individual might be genetically different => a huge lot of "Kapit" forms with subtle differences... You can find the same problem e.g. in Cryptocoryne wendtii "Braun" or "Grün" - only collective names, each with many forms, descending from many plants once collected in Sri Lankan streams.
Looking at the "Kapit" plants here, I'd say we have at least 6-7 forms. But we sell them as "Kapit" only. Maybe some forms are identical with selections made by other traders, but we could only guess. Also because of the impact of different growth conditions on the look of the plants.
Gruß
Heiko
