Limnophila aquatica

This beautiful aquarium plant has its origins in India and Sri Lanka.

Its fine-structured light green leaves contrast very nicely against other plants. It is not very demanding, however it develops best with CO₂ injection as well as a good nutrient supply with liquid fertilisers and/or over the substrate. Under sufficient light, it grows horizontally, forming a great number of lateral shoots, which gives it a very bushy look.

It is best presented in a group of several stems. In open tanks, it may form shoots with small blue flowers above the waterline.
