Echinodorus 'Sankt Elmsfeuer'

Echinodorus 'St. Elmo's Fire' was bred by Tomas Kaliebe by crossbreeding the varieties Echinodorus 'Grosser Baer' and 'Ozelot' and was brought onto the market in 2003.
This Echinodorus variety grows to a medium to large height and has longish leaves that assume a light red flamed pattern under lots of light. Its leaf blades grow up to 30 cm long and 5.5 cm wide. The leaf stalk gets up to 20 cm in lenght.
E. 'St. Elmo's Fire' is relatively easy to care for and only requires moderate light. It is wonderfully suited as solitary plant in the middleground of the aquarium.
